Home » About Us » Vision

May cancer patients and their families come to know and
accept the love of Jesus through a church’s care and the fellowship in it,
hence they receive support and spiritual healing.
May their faith and reliance on Jesus Christ the Lord be built up and
their lives enriched to the full.

Statement Of Faith

We believe that the Canon [The Old & New Testaments], is the inspired Word of God, hence the unique, infallible rules for faith, belief and life.

The Apostles' Creed
We believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.
We believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From where He shall come again to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and in life everlasting.

How We Began

On 28th November, 2009 The first “Cancer Care Ministry Exchange Meeting” was initiated by Rev. Chan Yut Wah and Mr. Chan Wai Yee (founder of the Fook Yam Fellowship, Lam Tin Alliance Church) to share the cancer care vision of a few churches which had started cancer care ministry. The meeting found that, among the more than a thousand Christian churches, only a few churches had developed cancer care ministry in order to promote and develop Christian cancer care ministry, the idea of establishing “Hong Kong Christian Cancer Caring Association” (HKCCCA) appeared.

The inception of HKCCCA seeks to serve Christian churches in Hong Kong and promote cancer care ministry territory-wide, so that more cancer care ministry and cancer care groups would be developed and sustained healthily in churches. Moreover, HKCCCA would like to become the blessing of the hospitals in Hong Kong by supporting the discharged cancer patients holistically in church.

On 6th March, 2010 The HKCCCA Preparatory Committee hosted a meeting to share the vision of cancer caring with 16 attending churches.
On 2nd June, HKCCCA became formally registered. Soon the Inland Revenue Department granted HKCCCA the IR88 Charitable Organization Tax-Exemption effective on 31st July 2010. The HKCCCA Founding Committee, who took office on 3rd July, set up 3 main working directions: (1) Training Care-givers; (2) Forming a platform of cancer care groups; (3) Supporting churches in cancer care ministry.

10th July, 2010 The HKCCCA organized a seminar “What to do with cancer?“ for cancer patients at E.F.C.C.Kong Fok Church. Dr. Janice Wing-hang Tsang, Clinical Assistant Professor of Department of Clinical Oncology, the University of Hong Kong, was invited to be the keynote speaker. This seminar marked a new milestone for commencing the HKCCCA’s territory-wide cancer care ministry.
